Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, recently posted several updates on his social media accounts addressing border security, veterans’ affairs, and his appreciation for recognition received in Nebraska.
On August 15, 2025, Rep. Bacon commented on issues at the U.S. southern border: “A large percentage of women were raped while crossing our broken border the last four years. Children were being trafficked. Securing our border was humane.”
Later that day, he shared details from a visit to the Omaha National Cemetery: “I visited the Omaha Cemetery to get an update from Director Jason Dolan. The National Cemetery is doing about a thousand funerals a year, about double what was expected when it was opened. The cemetery is a beautiful place and the staff has it looking great.”
On August 16, 2025, Rep. Bacon expressed gratitude for recent accolades: “I like being the best! Thank you. I’m honored. Nebraska Nice!”
Rep. Don Bacon has served as Nebraska’s representative in Congress since succeeding Brad Ashford in 2017 and resides in Papillion after being born in Momence, Illinois in 1963. He holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
