Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on community engagement and policy discussions through a series of posts on social media between September 6 and September 7, 2025.
On September 6, Rep. Bacon highlighted his visit to a local auction event: “We stopped by the Wahoo Live Auction to discuss their policy priorities, including the funding and report language from Congress that requires the USDA to provide the electronic tags required for compliance with the agency’s Animal Disease Traceability (ADT) program.” This post referenced ongoing congressional efforts related to agricultural traceability regulations.
Later that day, he posted about local sports: “Game time Huskers!” on September 6.
On September 7, Rep. Bacon participated in a remembrance event for first responders and victims of September 11 at Shadow Lake HyVee: “Grateful to join our community this morning at Shadow Lake HyVee to pay tribute to our brave first responders and remember those we lost on 9/11. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and our gratitude to those who serve continues to grow stronger. Never forget.”
Don Bacon has served as Nebraska’s representative in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in 1984 and also attended the University of Phoenix.
