Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on December 6, 2025, addressing both local political rivalries and international affairs.

In a post from the morning of December 6, Bacon commented on a former congressional candidate, stating, “This guy is a two time loser for Congress in very Red Districts… he couldn’t win as a dog catcher in NE. He’s still mad I crushed his favorite candidate in NE.”

Later that day, Bacon shifted focus to foreign policy. At 20:26 UTC, he wrote about meeting Ukraine’s new ambassador: “Angie and I welcomed Ukraine’s new Ambassador H.E. Olga Stefanishyna. Ukraine was invaded by Russia and Ukrainian cities are bombed every night. Recent polling released by the Reagan Defense Forum shows the vast majority of Americans want the U.S. to provide weapons to Ukraine.”

Shortly after, at 20:34 UTC, Bacon reported on discussions with Swedish officials regarding European security: “I met with Sweden’s Minister for Defense, Pal Jonson, to discuss Russia’s threat to Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. NATO is stronger with Sweden as a new member.”

Bacon has served as Nebraska’s 2nd district representative since 2017 after replacing Brad Ashford. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University and later attended the University of Phoenix.
