Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district in the U.S. Congress, posted several statements on March 12, 2026, addressing issues related to Iran and Russia.
In a tweet at 14:37 UTC, Bacon invited followers to tune in for his live appearance on CNN: “Live on @CNN to discuss the latest on Iran. Tune in!”
Later that day at 15:13 UTC, he referenced General Kellogg’s views regarding Ukraine and Russia, stating: “General Kellogg is right. Helping Ukraine with weapons and putting sanctions on Russia will help Putin come to these realizations. Weakness only gives Putin hope.”
At 15:16 UTC, Bacon commented on longstanding tensions between the United States and Iran: “That Iran has been at war with U.S. since 1979 is no rhetorical stretch.”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and now residing in Papillion, Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
