Rep. Don Bacon, U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, shared a series of updates on March 24, 2026, regarding local business challenges, agricultural celebrations, and legislative developments.
In a post from March 24, Bacon described a recent meeting with the Nebraska Secretary of State and community leaders: “Had a great meeting yesterday with @NebraskaSOS & district community leaders. We heard how foreign business leaders looking to do business in the U.S. are having a hard time getting visas through U.S. embassies. This is hurting Nebraska businesses & costing the U.S. billions in”.
Later that day, he acknowledged National Agriculture Day by posting: “Happy National Agriculture Day!
“And on the eighth day, God made a farmer.” Agriculture is the backbone of Nebraska, and today, we celebrate everyone in the industry who works hard so we can enjoy “the good life.””
Bacon also discussed legislative efforts related to agricultural land transactions: “My AFIDA Improvements Act codifies GAO recommendations to ensure timely and detailed data sharing on foreign investments in agricultural land transactions. This important, bipartisan legislation is included in the @HouseAgGOP-passed Farm Bill.”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since succeeding Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
