Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving as the U.S. Congressman for Nebraska’s 2nd district, posted a series of statements on November 5, 2025, addressing bipartisan cooperation, election administration in Douglas County, and health care policy.
In a message recognizing cross-party collaboration, Bacon wrote on November 5: “I salute @RepGolden and thank him for being a great colleague to work with across the aisle. We served in the For Country and the Problem Solvers Caucuses together. The Airman and Marine fought some joint battles together!”
Later that evening, Bacon praised local election management: “Commissioner Brian Kruse has done fantastic job running the Douglas County Elections. He has been an utmost professional and a great leader.”
On health care and economic policy, Bacon stated: “My bipartisan framework extends and reforms the COVID-era ACA tax credits to make health care more affordable. Meanwhile, tariffs have undermined our economic progress and driven up costs for families. We need a more predictable and balanced strategy that strengthens our economy.”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd district in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, he resides in Papillion and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
