Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted a series of diplomatic and security engagements on his official Twitter account.
On July 30, 2025, Bacon expressed gratitude for international cooperation in cybersecurity by posting: “I thank Mexico’s Navy Captain Salmeron for inviting @RepRoKhanna and I to tour the Mexican Navy’s Cyber Operations Center. I appreciate the close partnership that we’ve developed over cyber.”
Later that day, Bacon shared insights about his leadership role in fostering Baltic security. He wrote on July 30, 2025: “One of the great jobs I have is to Chair the Baltic Security Caucus! It’s growing. Latvia, Estonia & Lithuania love freedom, free markets and rule of law. They know from their history that Putin’s Russia is a dire threat. My task is to help deter Russia from ever invading them.”
In another post on July 30, 2025, Bacon discussed agricultural trade relations with Mexico and efforts to combat threats to cattle industries: “We had a great meeting with Mexico’s Secretary of Agriculture, Julio Berdegue. Mexico is Nebraska’s largest buyer of our AG products. We are working together to stop the screw worm that endangers our cattle industries. I gave him a Big Red hat! @RepRoKhanna”
Bacon has served as a member of Congress since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford and currently resides in Papillion, Nebraska. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, he holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
