Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, shared updates on his recent activities and commemorations through a series of posts on social media.
On July 29, 2025, Bacon highlighted a joint visit with Rep. Ro Khanna to the Mexican Army’s Cyber Operations Center, stating: “.@RepRoKhanna and I visited the Mexican Army’s Cyber Operations Center. Both Ro and I lead the Cyber Subcommittee in HASC. It’s very clear that the Mexican Army is working hard to defend against the daily cyber attacks & build a strong rapport with our Cyber teams.” This visit underscores ongoing collaboration between U.S. and Mexican defense entities in addressing cybersecurity threats.
Later that day, Bacon marked an anniversary in American space exploration history. He wrote: “Happy Birthday @NASA! On July 29, 1958, President Eisenhower signed the National Aeronautics and Space Act. From Apollo missions to today’s Artemis program, your pioneering spirit continues to inspire America’s leadership in space exploration.”
On July 30, Bacon posted about his experience at Mexico’s Navy Cyber Ops Center, mentioning an interpreter with ties to his home district: “Our Mexican interpreter at Mexico’s Navy Cyber Ops Center was Petty Officer Third Class Dominguez. His dad was stationed in Offutt over a decade ago and he attended Bellevue East Hugh School. We were glad to hear his pride in the “BEAST!””
Don Bacon has served as Nebraska’s representative since succeeding Brad Ashford in Congress in 2017 and resides in Papillion. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, he graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1984 before also earning a degree from the University of Phoenix.
