Rep. Don Bacon, who has represented Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress since 2017, shared updates on social media regarding recent developments affecting local families and farmers.

On October 30, 2025, Bacon commented on agricultural news by stating, “This is indeed great news for the American Farmer.”

Later that day, he addressed community support efforts during a government shutdown at Offutt Air Force Base: “The Offutt Food Pantry usually serves about 400 families but now helps 540 since they opened to furloughed workers at the base. Typically, they allow 10 items per week, but during the shutdown, they are allowing 20.” He added in a subsequent post: “This Saturday the Pantry will host hours for furloughed and exempted personnel only.”

Bacon has served as Nebraska’s representative since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University and later attended the University of Phoenix.
