Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, shared updates this week on key legislative actions and constituent engagement via his official Twitter account.
On July 18, Bacon reported the House’s decision to maintain military support for Ukraine, stating, “This morning the House overwhelmingly voted to continue providing military support to Ukraine by a 353-76 vote.”
The following day, he highlighted bipartisan backing for defense spending in Nebraska. On July 19, Bacon posted, “This week the House passed the Defense Appropriations bill with bipartisan support securing over $2.3B for Nebraska Defense Research and Air Force investments including
$1.8B for development of the new E-4C Survivable Airborne Operations Center aircraft to be based at”
Later that same day, Bacon invited constituents to participate in an upcoming tele-townhall event scheduled for July 21. He wrote, ” Join me for my second townhall of the 119th Congress on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 6:30 PM CT! Due to high interest, we’ll be using a tele-townhall format. Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since succeeding Brad Ashford in 2017 and is known for his focus on defense and constituent outreach. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
