Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on his Twitter account addressing local infrastructure, international affairs, and labor issues.
On August 6, 2025, Bacon announced federal support for a local project: “We worked to get $1.4 million in federal Community Project funding to help make the intersection at 132nd and {Platteview Road safer for the community.”
Later that day, he commented on Middle East policy, writing on August 7, 2025: “The SecState is right. There will be no peace with Hamas as their only goal is the destruction of Israel.”
In another post on August 7, 2025, Bacon addressed labor politics within his party: “As a Republican who was endorsed by the majority of unions in our NE02, I urge the GOP to contend for the labor vote. Most of the members support the GOP but we have to be there making our case. To not try is bad for labor and bad for the GOP. It is about jobs, healthcare”
Bacon has served in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since then. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
