Later that day, Bacon addressed his votes regarding military operations in South America: “I voted for two War Powers Resolutions related to operations in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility because the Constitution is clear that the use of U.S. Armed Forces against foreign adversaries, including in or against Venezuela, must be authorized by Congress. Bacon has served as a member of Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and currently resides in Papillion. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
