Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts on December 2, 2025, highlighting local infrastructure developments and national security concerns.
In his first post, Bacon marked the recent opening of a major traffic project: “Last week we celebrated the opening of the US-6 & 192nd Street Diverging Diamond Interchange. DDIs have proven to reduce fatal & serious injury crashes by up to 75% in Nebraska and nearly 50% nationwide. This project will bring those same safety benefits to our community.” (December 2, 2025). The diverging diamond interchange is expected to enhance road safety significantly in the area.
Addressing foreign policy, Bacon wrote about NATO’s role in U.S. security: “NATO has been a primary pillar of America’s national security for 75 years. The Administration appears to undervalue the Alliance, which is a mistake. America Only is a Weaker America.” (December 2, 2025).
Later that day, he referenced an opinion piece from The Wall Street Journal concerning Russia and its leadership: “Putin’s Choice: Peter the Great or Steve Witkoff by @gerardtbaker
WSJ: ‘In the end kleptocrats are going to do what kleptocrats always do. For Americans, making money with Russia in the hope of making peace would be a time-tested mistake. But helping to make money for Russia'” (December 2, 2025).
Bacon has served as Nebraska’s representative since replacing Brad Ashford in Congress in 2017 and currently resides in Papillion. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
