Rep. Don Bacon, who has represented Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district since 2017, shared several posts on social media between August 22 and August 23, 2025, reflecting on his past military service and support for local law enforcement.
On August 22, Bacon wrote about a former colleague in the military: “I served with Colonel Jeff Kruse, now a Lieutenant General, in 2013-2014. He’s a great man and a great leader.”
Later that day, Bacon expressed appreciation for police officers from Omaha while attending an event outside their city: “We love @OmahaPolice even in Grand Island at the State Fair!”
On August 23, he posted another tweet containing only a link: “https://t.co/G5CcFv0nJ0”
Bacon has been serving in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and currently resides in Papillion, Nebraska. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, he graduated from Northern Illinois University and later earned a degree from the University of Phoenix.
