Rep. Don Bacon, who has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2017, provided updates on his legislative activities related to national defense via social media posts on July 15, 2025.
In his first post of the day, Bacon announced that “The #FY26NDAA Markup is underway!” (July 15, 2025).
Shortly after, Bacon reported progress on one of his proposed amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), stating “The House Armed Services Committee just adopted my first NDAA amendment of the day, requiring the Secretary of the Air Force to provide a strategy and fielding plan for the F-47 Advanced Fighter Aircraft Program #NDAA” (July 15, 2025).
Later in the morning, Bacon shared further developments: “.@HASCRepublicans just adopted my second and third #FY26NDAA amendments of the day directing updates on the Space Force Satellite Control Network and hybrid commercial satellite communications architectures.” (July 15, 2025).
Don Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in 1984 and later from the University of Phoenix.
