Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, shared updates on social media regarding his recent activities at the Nebraska State Fair and ongoing international concerns.
On August 22, 2025, Bacon posted about participating in the opening of a major local event, stating, “Wonderful to help kick off the Nebraska State Fair today! The fair showcases the best of our state’s agricultural community and innovation.”
Later that day, he highlighted his interaction with young members of agricultural organizations: “Great to meet the inspiring future leaders of our community! These @NationalFFA students were impressive as we discussed their aspirations. I strongly support increased funding for 4-H and FFA.”
Bacon also commented on ongoing international conflict involving Russia and Ukraine. He wrote, “Let me edit: ‘In the meantime Russia continues its invasion and bombing campaign against Ukraine, to include destroying an American owned business.'” on August 22, 2025.
Bacon has served in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and later attended the University of Phoenix.
