Rep. Don Bacon, who has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in the U.S. Congress since 2017, recently shared several updates regarding his legislative activities and community engagement. Bacon, born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and a graduate of Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix, currently resides in Papillion.
On July 14, 2025, Rep. Bacon announced the introduction of new legislation: “Last week, I introduced the Back the Blue Act because #NE02 Backs the Blue!”
Later that day, he acknowledged the contributions of young people working in his office over the summer: “We had a wonderful group of district interns this summer and wish them the best as they start to leave for college.”
On July 15, 2025, Rep. Bacon highlighted ongoing legislative work related to national defense: “Starting now @HASCRepublicans are marking up the #FY26NDAA to keep America secure & defend against foreign adversaries such as Russia, Iran, North Korea, and China.
