Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted several community and educational initiatives on his social media account.
On March 10, 2026, Bacon invited students to participate in events aimed at introducing high schoolers to the congressional nomination process for military service academies. He posted, “Join my office and the Nebraska delegation for Service Academy Days. These events help high school students learn about congressional nominations to our military service academies. Learn more below https://t.co/teei0mLjyM https://t.co/aYvqhXq0aX”.
Later that day, he expressed appreciation for local youth programs, specifically acknowledging a gesture from children involved in Bellevue Public Schools Foundation Kids’ Time program. On March 10, 2026, he wrote, “Thank you to the students in the Bellevue Public Schools Foundation Kids’ Time program for the wonderful hand-drawn cards! Pleased to support programs like Kids’ Time that provide a safe, fun, and educational environment for students before and after school. https://t.co/XC3JjgkpV5”.
In a subsequent post on March 10, 2026, Bacon congratulated Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert on her new radio show with KFAB News: “Congrats to Jean Stothert on starting her own talk show on @kfabnews. I’ll look forward to listening in and cheering her on. https://t.co/hy12QlQ0yP”.
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford.[1] He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion.[2] Bacon is an alumnus of Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.[3]
