KETV anchor Rob McCartney was recognized on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives by Nebraska Congressman Don Bacon. The tribute took place Wednesday morning as McCartney prepares to retire after a 41-year career in journalism.

Bacon, who has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford, used his time during the session to honor McCartney’s service. Don Bacon, age 59, was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and now resides in Papillion. He earned his BA from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and also graduated from the University of Phoenix.

McCartney’s retirement marks the end of more than four decades with KETV.
