Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district, recently highlighted his legislative and diplomatic activities through a series of posts on social media.
On July 26, Bacon announced the introduction of new legislation aimed at combating hate online, stating: “Great joining my friend @RepJoshG and @ADL CEO & National Director @JGreenblattADL to introduce the STOP HATE Act. We want to be in a country that makes clear antisemitism or any kind of racism is repugnant, unacceptable and not allowed in an online space.”
The following day, he shared details about a visit involving British dignitaries at Offutt Air Force Base: “Thank you 55th Wing. We brought Baroness Owen of Alderley Edge and @PeterABedford to @Offutt_AFB and showed them the RC-135 mission that we closely partner with the Royal Air Force on. They got to meet some of the British military who fly and maintain the RC-135s with the USAF.” This visit underscored ongoing collaboration between U.S. forces and their British counterparts.
Later that same day, Bacon expressed appreciation for local law enforcement during another part of the visit: “Thank you @OmahaPolice for taking our two visiting British members of Parliament, @PeterABedford and Baroness Owen of Alderley Edge on a ride along in our great city. We are proud of our great local law enforcement.”
Bacon has served as Nebraska’s 2nd District representative since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, Bacon currently resides in Papillion. He holds degrees from Northern Illinois University (1984) and the University of Phoenix.
