Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, shared several posts on social media commemorating Veterans Day and expressing gratitude to military personnel and supporters.

On November 11, 2025, Bacon posted about his participation in a local event: “Great speaking at Nebraska Furniture Mart’s Veterans Day ceremony and breakfast this morning. It’s an honor to thank those who have served and sacrificed to defend our freedoms.”

Later that day, he acknowledged the service of a specific military unit with the post: “On Veterans Day I salute the 41st Electronic Combat Squadron, the Scorpions! This is 2002.” The tweet included a reference to his past military connections.

Bacon, born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, has a background that includes graduating from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and further studies at the University of Phoenix. He succeeded Brad Ashford as representative for Nebraska’s 2nd district in Congress.
