Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts on November 5, 2025, outlining his bipartisan efforts regarding ACA Covid Era Tax credits and offering criticism of the current administration’s OSD Policy team.
In a post published at 18:57 UTC, Bacon described his legislative proposal: “Our bipartisan proposal on the ACA Covid Era Tax credits: ‘It’s a pragmatic, humane approach, the kind of bipartisan cooperation needed to reopen and fund government agencies, programs, and personnel. It’s a rare act of courage in a cynical Congress.’”
Later that evening at 19:04 UTC, Bacon announced an upcoming media appearance to discuss these developments: “On @NewsCentralCNN to discuss the shutdown and our bipartisan compromise framework to temporarily extend the ACA Tax Credits. Tune in!”
In another statement at 20:55 UTC, Bacon relayed criticisms from SASC GOP members regarding the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Policy team: “SASC GOP members on the OSD Policy team: ‘Pig-pen mess’ and the ‘Worst in the Administration.’ OSD Policy is not serving this Administration well.”
Bacon has served as Nebraska’s 2nd District representative since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
