Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, shared several messages on social media on August 7, 2025, addressing topics from national defense to Purple Heart Day.
In a post made at 3:13 p.m., Bacon commented on current political discourse by stating, “Most Americans frown upon this level of left-wing creepiness.” At 5:41 p.m., he marked a day of remembrance for military service members with the message: “On Purple Heart Day, we honor and thank all recipients in NE-02 and across our nation for their extraordinary sacrifice and courage. Your service and dedication in defending our freedoms will never be forgotten.” Later that afternoon at 6:06 p.m., Bacon reflected on his responsibilities in Congress by writing, “With so many voices shaping defense policy, I’m grateful to contribute where I can. Through my role as Chair of the Cyber Subcommittee and continued work on strategic deterrence & military quality of life, I stay focused on delivering for those who serve.”
Don Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, Bacon resides in Papillion and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
