Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted several statements on his official Twitter account on March 25, 2026, addressing topics ranging from public health to international affairs.
In one post, Bacon highlighted efforts to raise awareness about lung cancer: “Today I’m wearing turquoise to #TurnTheHillTurquoise and raise awareness about lung cancer. Together with the @LungAssociation, we can work towards better methods of prevention, early detection, and treatments to defeat this disease.” (March 25, 2026).
Later that day, he commented on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine: “Ukraine holds great cards. The best card is its strong desire for freedom, independence and basic human rights, all of which Russia is trying take away.” (March 25, 2026).
In another brief statement posted minutes later, Bacon wrote: “He disqualifies himself in one sentence.” (March 25, 2026).
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd district since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon earned his undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University in 1984 and later graduated from the University of Phoenix.
