Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted several personal and political messages on his social media account between March 9 and March 10, 2026.

On March 9, Bacon commented on international relations by stating, “Putin hates America and our leaders should never be confused otherwise.” He followed this post later that evening with a lighter note about an upcoming holiday: “St Patrick’s Day is coming soon!” (March 10).

The next day, Bacon shared a personal remembrance about his sister Beth, writing on March 10: “My sister Beth would have turned 60 today. She passed away 20 years ago from breast cancer. It was a devastating loss for our whole family. She made a remarkable impact in the years she lived. I strongly support research so we can defeat breast cancer once and for all.”

Bacon, who was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently lives in Papillion at age 59, succeeded Brad Ashford in Congress after winning the seat in 2017. He graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1984 with a BA and later attended the University of Phoenix.
