Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on September 14, 2025, expressing support for Omaha native and boxing champion Terence “Bud” Crawford.

In his first post at 03:24 UTC, Bacon wrote, “All of Omaha area will be cheering on our hometown hero Bud Crawford! We are proud of our World Champion.”

Later that morning at 05:50 UTC, he continued his praise by stating, “Terence “Bud” Crawford is the best boxer in the world. Pound for pound the best! Omaha’s favorite son!”

Shortly after, at 05:58 UTC, Bacon added another message: “Terence “Bud” Crawford = GOAT.”

Don Bacon has served as a member of Congress since 2017 and currently resides in Papillion. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix. Bacon succeeded Brad Ashford as representative for Nebraska’s 2nd district.
