Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared several messages on his social media account ranging from community engagement to foreign policy and leadership insights.
On March 7, 2026, Bacon invited constituents to participate in a national art event: “It’s time for the 2026 Congressional Art Competition. This is your chance to showcase your creativity and have your artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol! Learn more at https://t.co/vanyVdhk4i https://t.co/JGRObNkjtc”.
The following day, he reflected on his military experience with a lesson from his service: “A leadership lesson I learned in the Air Force: ‘Always lead from the front unless you’re at the chow hall.'” (March 8, 2026).
Later that same day, Bacon commented on ongoing international events: “Russia purposefully targets civilians every night. Putin commits war crimes every night.” (March 8, 2026).
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and is known for his background as an Air Force veteran. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in 1984 and later earned another degree from the University of Phoenix.
