Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted several statements on his social media account on December 9, 2025, expressing concerns about recent shifts in U.S. national security strategy.

In a post at 04:00 UTC, Bacon wrote: “Translation: America Alone, America Last.” Later that day at 14:03 UTC, he cited The Wall Street Journal’s coverage of the new National Security Strategy, quoting: “WSJ on the new National Security Strategy: ‘Americans elected Trump in 2016 in part because they didn’t fancy Obama’s naivete about our adversaries & his retreat from U.S. leadership. Why is Mr. Trump now reviving much of that failed grand strategy?'” At 16:58 UTC, Bacon posted a third message containing only a link: “https://t.co/VifOvLnowi”
