Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, recently used his social media platform to question the European Union’s efforts regarding hostages held by Hamas and to promote his media appearances.

On September 17, 2025, Bacon posted: “Where’s the EU pressure to make Hamas release the hostages that are starving to death over the last two years?” This statement reflects ongoing concerns about international responses to hostage situations in conflict zones.

The following day, on September 18, 2025, Bacon encouraged followers to watch his appearance on C-SPAN: “Live now on @cspanwj. Tune in!” Later that day, he also shared another link without additional commentary: “https://t.co/lX7FC5KaTl”

Bacon has served in Congress since succeeding Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. His educational background includes a BA from Northern Illinois University and further studies at the University of Phoenix.
