Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, addressed a range of topics in a series of posts on October 13, 2025.
In one post, Bacon raised concerns about cybersecurity leadership, stating, “We are on the receiving end of cyber attacks everyday. Meanwhile, our Cyber Command Commander’s position has been vacant for six months. This is unacceptable.” (October 13, 2025).
Later that day, he congratulated a departing team member: “Congrats to Jaydn Smith who is joining the NE Farm Bureau. Jaydn has been an outstanding leader in our DC legislative team and he will be missed.” (October 13, 2025).
Bacon also commented on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, contrasting former President Trump’s approach with that of President Biden and Vice President Harris. He wrote, “Biden nor Harris could have delivered the success we saw today. They focused on Israel, and not on Iran & Hamas. President Trump showed strong unwavering support to our Ally, and knew the real enemies were Iran & Hamas. Eliminating Iran’s nuclear capabilities was a game changer.” (October 13, 2025).
Don Bacon succeeded Brad Ashford in 2017 as representative of Nebraska’s 2nd district. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
