Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving as the U.S. Congressman for Nebraska’s 2nd district, posted a series of tweets on August 28 and 29, 2025, covering topics from the anniversary of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan to local sports and personal interests.

On August 28, Bacon referenced his interview with Fox News Digital about the fourth anniversary of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and its aftermath: “Rep. Don Bacon, a retired brigadier general, spoke with Fox News Digital about the fourth anniversary of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, including the deadly August 2021 suicide bombing that killed 13 U.S. service members.” (August 28, 2025).

Later that day, he shared a lighthearted post: “TBT! Bacon and Hogs go hand in hand.” (August 28, 2025).

The following morning, Bacon expressed support for a local sports team: “Go Big Red. The whole state was cheering you on.” (August 29, 2025).

Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd district in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. His educational background includes degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
