Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, addressed constituents and national political issues in a series of posts on November 6, 2025.
In his first post, Bacon reflected on the previous year’s election results, stating, “Throwback Thursday to a year ago! Thanking #NE02 for their support and proving all the polls wrong!” (November 6, 2025).
Later that day, Bacon commented on Senate Democrats’ position regarding the filibuster during the Biden Administration. He wrote, “Erick is right. All but two Senate Dems voted to kill the filibuster during the Biden Administration. Senators Manchin & Sinema saved it. Senate Dems would love to see the government opened w/out voting for it. And, when in the majority they’d pass tons of left wing legislation” (November 6, 2025).
Bacon also thanked participants of a recent tele-townhall and provided updates on current legislative matters: “Thank you to everyone who participated in this week’s tele-townhall. I shared updates on the latest developments regarding the government shutdown, our bipartisan framework to extend and reform ACA tax credits, and more. Listen to my full opening remarks below.” (November 6, 2025).
Bacon has served as Nebraska’s representative in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
