Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, marked the anniversary of the September 11 attacks and highlighted recent legislative action in a series of posts on September 11, 2025.
On the morning of September 11, Rep. Bacon posted a tribute to those lost in the terrorist attacks twenty-four years ago: “2,977 people were brutally murdered 24 years ago by terrorists. We will never forget. I’ll always honor the heroes on FL93 who fought back & saved the U.S. Capitol. I was a Lt Col, and knew then that life in the military was going to change dramatically for many years to come.” (posted at 14:18 UTC).
Earlier that day, he acknowledged legislative progress in Congress regarding national security and support for servicemembers: “For the 65th consecutive year, the House of Representatives has passed bipartisan legislation that increases our national security and takes care of our servicemembers and their families. In particular, #FY26NDAA reforms the acquisition process, delivering much-needed” (posted at 13:59 UTC). He also shared an uncaptioned post linking to additional content at this link (posted at 13:46 UTC).
The annual passage of bipartisan defense authorization bills reflects ongoing congressional priorities related to military funding and reforms intended to improve both security and support for military families.
Don Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in 1984 and later attended the University of Phoenix.
