Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted several messages on April 5, 2026, marking Easter and Gold Star Spouses Day.

In his first post of the day, Bacon extended holiday wishes to his constituents: “He is risen! Wishing everyone in NE-02 a Happy Easter. May this day bring renewal, hope, and joy to all who celebrate.” (April 5, 2026).

Later that morning, he commemorated Gold Star Spouses Day with a message honoring military families: “On Gold Star Spouses Day, we honor those who lost a loved one defending our nation. One of our first bills signed into law protects base privileges for Gold Star spouses.” (April 5, 2026).

In another tweet the same day, Bacon referenced religious observance: “This morning we worship the risen Messiah, our Savior and Lord.” (April 5, 2026).

Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in Congress since defeating Brad Ashford in the 2016 election. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. His educational background includes degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
