Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, shared several updates on sports and history via his social media account on October 4, 2025.

In a post celebrating a baseball victory, Bacon wrote, “Cubs Win, Cubs Win, Cubs Win. On to the next round.” (October 4, 2025). Later that evening, he commented on collegiate athletics: “The Husker’s Volleyball team sweeps the National Champions! #1 team in NCAA.” (October 4, 2025).

Bacon also referenced historical events in another post: “The Hungarians from 1956 would be very embarrassed.” (October 4, 2025).

Bacon was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in 1984 and later attended the University of Phoenix. Bacon succeeded Brad Ashford as the representative for Nebraska’s 2nd district and has maintained his seat since then.
