Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on July 25, 2025, detailing his recent activities and sharing his views on public discourse.
In one tweet at 18:45 UTC, Bacon highlighted a local experience with visiting dignitaries: “You can’t come to Nebraska without going to a rodeo and we had to make sure our friends were prepared, with some help from Aaron at Cavender’s! Baroness Owen of Alderley Edge found some boots and @PeterABedford found a great hat!”
Later that day, at 19:03 UTC, Bacon commented on freedom of speech and anti-Semitism: “You have the right to say stupid anti-Semitic stuff, and we have the right to not like it and call you out for it. Your behavior is shameful and repugnant.”
At 20:08 UTC, Bacon described a lunch meeting with local officials and guests: “Enjoyed lunch with @PeterABedford and Baroness Owen of Alderley Edge and local elected officials. We talked about the value of civic engagement.”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford ([source](https://nebraskalegislature.gov/senators/biography.php?SenatorID=1506)). Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, he currently resides in Papillion. He holds degrees from Northern Illinois University (BA) and the University of Phoenix.
