Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted a series of statements on December 3, 2025, addressing the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine as well as his engagement with local students.

In a tweet published at 12:01 UTC, Bacon commented on Russia’s territorial demands in Ukraine, stating: “If Putin keeps demanding Ukrainian territory then Ukraine should be allowed to join NATO.”

Later that morning at 12:20 UTC, he called for increased military support and economic pressure against Russia. He wrote: “It is beyond time to send Ukraine cruise missiles and also to pass tough secondary sanctions to cripple Putin’s war economy.”

In the afternoon at 18:45 UTC, Bacon shifted focus to domestic affairs by highlighting his meeting with students from JAG Nebraska. He stated: “Great meeting with students from JAG Nebraska as they prepare for their national leadership conference in DC. JAG plays a vital role helping high school students build skills for careers and the trades. My wife Angie worked with them years ago, and we’re grateful for all they do.”

Bacon has served in Congress since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017 and currently resides in Papillion. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, he holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
