Rep. Don Bacon, currently serving Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district in the U.S. Congress, shared his views on national security, foreign policy, and economic issues through a series of tweets on December 8, 2025.
In one post, Bacon referenced a recent media report: “It is 10x more critical of Europe than Russia,” Rep Don Bacon said about the new National Security Strategy. And the Kremlin appears to like it that way. (December 8, 2025).
Addressing public opinion regarding the war in Ukraine, Bacon cited polling data: “In the most recent polling, the Reagan Institute poll shows that Americans see Ukraine as an ally at approximately 4:1 ratio. Conversely, Americans see Russia as an enemy at 4:1 ratio. Americans have moral clarity on this war, and the Administration needs to find some.” (December 8, 2025).
On economic policy, Bacon criticized assertions regarding tariffs: “To say tariffs have no negative impact on the cost of living is to ignore Economics 101.” (December 8, 2025).
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in Congress in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and resides in Papillion. His educational background includes a BA from Northern Illinois University and further studies at the University of Phoenix.
