Rep. Don Bacon, who represents Nebraska’s 2nd district in the U.S. Congress, commented on a series of political developments and proposals through his social media account on October 21, 2025.
In one post, Bacon stated, “This is not a popular proposal in Nebraska.” (October 21, 2025). In another tweet the same day, he cited a report from The Hill: “The Hill: Senate Democrats fear if they vote to open the government that their liberal base won’t donate to their campaigns.” (October 21, 2025). He also added a lighter note regarding local interests by posting, “Yes, we have a real steak in this whole decision.” (October 21, 2025).
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since 2017 after succeeding Brad Ashford. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
