Rep. Don Bacon, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted a series of statements on October 12, 2025, expressing support for Ukraine and criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s actions.

In his first post at 14:35 UTC, Bacon stated: “I applaud the Administration’s support to Ukraine. Putin must realize he cannot win and that the costs are too painful to continue his invasion.”

Later that day, at 20:39 UTC, Bacon intensified his remarks with a direct message: “My Putin, get the he** out of Ukraine. Ukraine has a right to meet force with force, and it is in our national security interest that your barbaric invasion and bombing of cities fail.”

In a separate post at 22:57 UTC on the same day, Bacon commented on political tracking during campaigns: “This was one of my favorite trackers who the Dems paid to follow me around.”

Bacon’s statements come amid ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which began in February 2022 when Russian forces invaded Ukrainian territory. The United States government has continued its policy of supporting Ukraine through military aid and diplomatic backing.

Don Bacon replaced Brad Ashford in Congress in 2017. He was born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently resides in Papillion. Bacon holds degrees from Northern Illinois University (1984) and the University of Phoenix.
