Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing recent legislative action and current events.
On September 10, 2025, Bacon wrote in support of the Baltic Security Initiative, stating: “WATCH: I spoke on the floor in support of the Baltic Security Initiative. Today the People’s House showed we stand with our Baltic allies by unanimously voting to continue funding this vital program. POTUS & DoD must follow this lead and keep America on the right side of history.”
Later that day, Bacon expressed condolences regarding a colleague’s passing: “Our hearts and prayers are with Charlie’s wife, children, family and friends. He served on the Air Force Academy Board of Visitors with me and will be missed. Our country not only protects, but cherishes our freedom of speech, and political violence terribly undermines our” (September 10, 2025).
On September 11, 2025, Bacon commented on political developments in Russia: “No sense of awareness coming from a guy whose boss has murdered all his rivals. Falling out of windows is an epidemic in Moscow.”
Bacon has represented Nebraska’s 2nd District since replacing Brad Ashford in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963, he currently resides in Papillion and holds degrees from Northern Illinois University and the University of Phoenix.
