Rep. Don Bacon, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 2nd district since 2017, shared several posts on his social media account on November 9, 2025, highlighting support for Ukraine and celebrating athletic achievements.
In one post, Bacon stated, “Over 70% of Americans agree and support Ukraine. We know Putin hates us, freedom, free markets and rule of law. We know Ukraine wants freedom.” (November 9, 2025).
Later the same morning, he commented on a sports victory with the message: “A Great Win for GBR!” (November 9, 2025).
Shortly after that post, Bacon praised an athlete’s character by writing: “Emmitt Johnson is a class act. I admire his praise for his teammates and to God. Grace backed by hard-work and teamwork.” (November 9, 2025).
Bacon has served as Nebraska’s representative in Congress since succeeding Brad Ashford in 2017. Born in Momence, Illinois in 1963 and currently residing in Papillion, Bacon graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in 1984 and also attended the University of Phoenix.
