Former Omaha Hockey senior forward Samuel Huo signed an Amateur Tryout Deal with the Tahoe Knight Monsters of the ECHL, according to an April 2 announcement. The contract was upgraded to a standard player contract on March 20, and Huo has since played in eight games for the team.

The move marks a significant step in Huo’s career as he transitions from college hockey to professional play. The Tahoe Knight Monsters are affiliated with the National Hockey League’s Vegas Golden Knights.

Huo scored his first professional goal during his eighth game with Tahoe. During his single season at Omaha, he played in 30 games and recorded seven goals and nine assists for a total of 16 points.

Omaha head coach Mike Gabinet said, “It was great having Sam join us for his senior season. We wish him all the best as he transitions into his pro career.”
