Te’Shaun Porter, a former standout at Omaha North Magnet High School and current player for the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats, will participate in the NCAA Division II Football Championship.
The team enters the tournament as the top seed and will face the first-seeded Harding Bison in their opening game.
The initial matchup is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m.
Omaha Women’s Golf placed eighth out of nine teams at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational in St. George, Utah. Macarena Garcia Terron led the team while Natalie Henson posted its lowest round. The Mavericks will compete next at the Jackrabbit Invitational.
Creighton’s Josh Dix has been awarded the BIG EAST Sportsmanship Award for his contributions on and off the court during his first season with Creighton. He becomes only the third Bluejay to receive this recognition since joining the conference.
Jack Pineau has been named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week after leading Creighton to a win over Gonzaga. His strong outing helped improve his season record and earned him conference recognition.
