On Saturday, Dec. 6, the Minnesota State Mankato Mavericks, featuring former Westside High School standout Grant Guyett, were defeated 52-29 by the Ferris State Bulldogs in the NCAA Division II Football Championship.
The matchup, which marked the first tournament meeting between the two teams, took place at 1 p.m. at Top Taggart Field.
These former City of Omaha area high school standouts will be active on Tuesday, March 17.
Omaha Men’s Tennis swept Nicholls State twice in a doubleheader on March 15. Junior Christian Trevey led with wins in both singles and doubles as the Mavericks improved to a season record of 7-8.
Omaha Baseball has cancelled its March 16 game against Maine due to expected cold weather. Fans can seek ticket exchanges or refunds through the athletics box office. The team will return to action on March 20 against Northern Colorado.
