Latrell Wrightsell Jr., the former Omaha Central High School standout, took the court on Saturday, Feb. 28, helping the Alabama Crimson Tide secure a 71-69 victory against the Tennessee Volunteers.
The 6-foot-3 graduate guard tallied 25 points, grabbed 2 rebounds and recorded 1 assist in 30 minutes on the floor.
Wrightsell Jr. and the Crimson Tide will next face the Georgia Bulldogs on the road on Tuesday, March 3, at 6:30 p.m.
Omaha Softball will face St. Thomas in a key Summit League series starting April 10 after an eight-game win streak. The Mavericks have achieved their highest-ever mid-major ranking this season and recently celebrated pitcher Alexis Wiggins’ weekly league honor.
Creighton’s softball series against Georgetown has been rescheduled due to rain in the forecast. The teams will now play a doubleheader on Friday and one game Saturday. Fans with Sunday tickets can exchange them for another home game.
These former City of Omaha area high school athletes are set to compete on Friday, April 10.
