A de-transitioning advocate for the mental health care of LGBTQ minors called it "insane" that a doctor who took an oath to do no harm could call most gender transition procedures "healthcare," Luka Hein said in a recent podcast.

In a recent episode of "The Jenny Bath Show" podcast,  Hein said, “it’s absolutely insane that a medical professional who took an oath to do no harm would look a 16-year-old in the eyes and call something like [transitioning genders] care." Hein also added that the politicization of the issue of children for the sake of the issue was cruel.

"The minute protecting kids becomes a Left/Right issue it [becomes] a very worrying level of polarization at that point," said Hein, who started receiving “gender affirming care” at age of 16, including a double mastectomy and testosterone. She stopped the treatments at age 20, and now travels the country sharing her experience and testifying against the state of transgender healthcare in the country.

“If [transgender] activists genuinely cared about preventing suicide they would not talk about the way they do,” Hein said on the podcast. “They wouldn’t talk about death in the way they do and they wouldn’t throw around lines like ‘do you want a dead daughter or a living son?’”

Hein told host Jenny Beth Martin that the current trend of therapy for “gender-diverse youth” is focused completely on affirming their feelings, adding that her own therapist never tried to dig deeper to “see maybe where these feelings are coming from," she said.

“Given my mental health state and my age I was not able to fully comprehend what the full long-term consequences of [a double mastectomy] would be,” Hein said. “Since I’ve stopped [testosterone hormones] I deal with joint pain, vocal cord pain, atrophy of certain parts of my body and heart issues.”

Hein grew up in Nebraska and received transition treatment at the University of Nebraska Medical center in 2018.

Martin is the Honorary Chair of Tea Party Patriots Action, which is headquartered in Cherokee Co., GA. She was named one of 2010’s “Most Influential Leaders” by Time Magazine. She attended Reinhardt University in Wales, Ga., as well as the University of Georgia, according to her LinkedIn profile.
